There isn’t a skill within the world of drum & bass that DJ Ollie hasn’t turned his hand to. He’s lived and made a living within the forefront of dance music’s most confrontational style, starting out in the genre’s record shops, progressing on to running his own label Direct Recordings.

The livewire DJ tours extensively, playing across the UK & Europe, taking his sound cross continental representing the music he loves, detonating his cuts at some of the world’s biggest parties, including Innovation & Warning.

His specialist drum & bass show on the multi award winning Rough Tempo Radio station has also seen him rise to critical acclaim, broadcasting regularly to a worldwide audience. But it’s his own tracks, including a recent release on Dynamic Audio, which have really caught the world’s stage. Nestled between the likes of Majistrate, Modified Motion & Faction, Ravager, Voltage and Sudden Def in the labels catalogue, his A&R skill has proven to be just as devastating as his own productions.

Next on his own imprint comes the forthcoming single ‘Listen’, which takes DJ Ollie’s enviable aptitude behind the decks and translates this directly into his own sonic creation. ‘Listen’ definitely makes the audience do exactly that, taking you on a journey that only an artist like DJ Ollie could pull you through. It’s already done untold damage on the club circuit, never pausing for breath as it throws hit after hit of electronic chaos onto its audiences. The jungle breaks, on top of its rolling vocal samples bring a call-to-arms which allows it to filter its way through speakers undeterred. This is DJ Ollie at his most menacing, throwing down a riddim which not only packs a punch, but also nods to the old school. And it’s from the old school roots of the 170 BPM scene which helped pave DJ Ollie’s career from the bottom up. It’s a journey which is continuing, with this multi talented artist remaining at the pinnacle of his game, entertaining crowds, producing cuts of undiluted hype, & bringing burgeoning artists on board onto his label.
